Fans of the cult classic “Beetlejuice” are in for a treat as fresh details about the upcoming film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” have been revealed by Entertainment Weekly today. Directed by visionary filmmaker Tim Burton, the sequel promises to captivate audiences with its signature blend of dark humor and eccentric charm.
“The sequel picks up decades later with a death in the family. “That’s all I will say,” Burton tells EW in an interview. “There’s something that happens that sets things in motion.” Could that be the death of Lydia’s father, Charles Deetz (Jeffrey Jones)? The director plays coy: “We’ll see.” One thing’s for sure, Beetlejuice comes back into play.” - EW

Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive feature delves into the intricacies of the highly anticipated movie, shedding light on key plot points and character developments that will surely excite fans worldwide. With Burton at the helm, audiences can expect a visually stunning journey into the bizarre and fantastical world of the afterlife.
“Many concepts were floated around, some dating all the way back to the ’80s, including a treatment set in Hawaii. “We talked about lots of different things,” Burton says. “That was early on when we were going, Beetlejuice and the Haunted MansionBeetlejuice Goes West, whatever. Lots of things came up.”

What they needed, however, was time. His actors, including Ryder and O’Hara, had all moved on to other projects after the original came out, and “nobody,” Burton notes, “was really pushing for it.” The filmmaker also admits he didn’t initially (and still doesn’t to some degree) understand the success of the first film, so he wasn’t motivated to move forward with an idea that didn’t excite him.” -EW

Building upon the beloved characters from the original film, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” promises to introduce audiences to new and enigmatic characters while also revisiting familiar faces. The sequel is poised to expand the universe established in the 1988 classic, offering fans a fresh perspective on the whimsical underworld inhabited by Beetlejuice and his peculiar cohorts.

Speaking about the film’s development, Tim Burton expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the world of “Beetlejuice”. He teased that fans can anticipate a cinematic experience that honors the spirit of the original while also pushing creative boundaries.
