In the basement of the Howard Theater, nestled below the stage, I had the opportunity to sit down with Buzz Osborne of the Melvins.

On their 40th-anniversary tour stop in DC, we got to talk about the journey of these past 40 years, as well as some of the wilder things seen on the road.

The Melvins

The Melvins are an American rock band that was formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington. The band’s music is a unique blend of punk, metal, and experimental rock, and they are known for their eclectic sound and diverse discography.

The Melvins have released numerous albums over the years, and have worked with a variety of labels, including Sub Pop and Ipecac Recordings. They have also collaborated with other artists, such as the punk rock band, The Offspring, and have been cited as an influence by many other bands in the punk and metal genres.

The band’s lineup has changed over the years, but the core members have always been Buzz Osborne (guitar, vocals) and Dale Crover (drums, vocals). The Melvins are known for their energetic live shows, and have a dedicated fan base around the world.
